Tommie Sunshine’s Brooklyn Fire Records bursts back onto the scene for 2012, starting off an onslaught of new tracks with “Rave In The Key Of C,” a belter by Rock It Science’s own DJ Fame & Eric Sharp.

Merging DJ Fame’s polished drum programming and arrangement skills with Eric Sharp’s penchant for high impact sounds, “Rave In The Key of C” is a straight ahead dance floor smash. Offered as the fifth release on Tommie Sunshine’s hotly tipped Brooklyn Fire Records this does not disappoint. The track gets right down to business with huge drums and a chopped up, side-chained vocal sample. Breakdowns, builds, and fat drops into pumping synth bass lines induce hands-in-the-air freakouts without fail. This tune is a must-have for purveyors of banging electronic house music.

You may have heard of it, you may not know it, but it’s the sound of the street brought to you straight in yo’ face. New Orleans’ current ambassador is Big Freedia (pronounced ‘Free-da’) the Queen Diva. And she has become a national voice for an explosion of the underground bounce music scene recently. Whether you get what she’s doing, the electrifying style she has makes you want to lose your mind.

Originally an interior decorator, Freddie Ross, her days consist of her love of design and space. But her nights, as almost every night of the week she is booked, are inspirational scenes at a club. The energy, the buzz, the unbelievable aura of her vocal musings and the pure booty poppin’ heavy basslines create a numbing effect on the senses.

That’s not to say this is the easiest music to listen to. While there is much music out there that is best listened to with headphones, sitting at home enjoying the tonal qualities of a seven part string section, or the bassline of an amazing guitarist, bounce music really only makes sense when you experience it with 50 other people all moving around you. Until that event, the feeling may not be understood.

Our good friends at Brap Dem! Recordings just released an EP by Seattle producer Dash Exp. In conjunction with the release, they also sent a bootleg remix which is incredibly well done.

“Dash Exp is a hardworking upcoming producer from the Northwest. Based in Seattle, he has been producing for years and even competes in live laptop battles. Recently his sound caught the ears of Brap Dem! Recordings with a bass soaked, abstract, take on 140 bpm. His work is a real breath of fresh air in the current banger addicted Stateside Dubstep music scene. His production shows technical knowledge, soul, and maturity.”

Been awhile since we’ve posted a free tune up, and this is a great occasion to do so! Three things we love combined into one. No, not sex, chocolate, and pizza, but close. Zodiac Cartel mashes up Fake Blood and Daft Punk, and does a gosh darned good job of it. Besides, the graphic is Zodiac Cartel’s head on a space man. How could we resist?

We’ve been Santiago & Bushido fans for a long time, and not just because they delivered a stand-out remix on our first EP. The dudes are very talented producers as well as DJs, rocking crowds across the globe and putting work out on labels like Om Records, Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak and Green Velvet’s Cajual just to name a few.

When this remix of Mr. V, one of NYC’s legendary hip-house producers, popped up on our radar we were definitely curious. Immediately on listening we had to post this up; it’s big room techy bliss and it will slam your speakers!
